The Beginning

With over twenty years experience in the field of Militaria & collectables founder & owner of Trenchards Auctioneers Chris Sadler had already been handling these wonderful historic artefacts from an early age. With a fascination for Military history borne from family members with stories to tell the medals, badges & various other collectables acquired by him began to amass ! The life of a person who collects things has extra dimensions although at some point we will all seek out a conduit to find us a new owner for these historic items as simply & honestly as possible.

When I first began to start the process of forming an Auction company I could quickly feel the waters rising above my head & so took a deep breath & struck out for the shore. With a good few years behind me , starting when I was a schoolboy , of handling these artefacts I figured I must know something about the industry & could offer a simple, honest  & transparent evaluation & selling option to those who have items of history which they are looking to pass on to their next owner.

We  still do not cease to be amazed at what is still out there from a Cromwellian roundhead helmet to items from the Falklands conflict.
