WW1 French 1879 Pattern Infantry tunic . This pattern was still being worn during the early frontier battles of 1914 against the invading German army. All nine flaming grenade infantry buttons present to front with red backed regimental number patches to collar. Lining bears markings of the 39th Infantry Regiment (32De L.) with depot stamp giving date of May 1885 . Belt equipment support present to rear. Overall condition good with one or two moth nips to cloth , moth hole to right elbow. Measures an approx 35 inch chest .
